Terms of Service

Last updated · Revision 2

These terms govern your use of Wordo, a daily crossword and word-puzzle service operated at wordo.farnoosh.io. By creating an account or using Wordo as a guest, you agree to these terms.

Acceptance

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Wordo. When you sign up, you accept these terms with a checkbox. Your acceptance is recorded together with the revision number shown at the top of this page, so you can always check which version you agreed to.

Who can use Wordo

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up to check this. If you are under 16, the GDPR may require parental consent for some kinds of processing; in those cases we apply the stricter standard.

You may use Wordo as an individual. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else, share account credentials, or run multiple accounts to bypass free-tier limits.

What you can do

You can play puzzles, save your progress across devices, optionally subscribe to a paid plan for extended features, and download your personal data at any time. We provide the service “as is” — we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that any specific puzzle will stay available forever.

What you may not do

You may not:

  • interfere with the service (scraping at unreasonable rates, denial-of-service, exploiting bugs);
  • try to access another player’s data without authorisation;
  • use the service in a way that breaks the law or infringes someone else’s rights;
  • reverse-engineer the puzzle-generation engine to redistribute puzzles outside Wordo;
  • automate gameplay with bots or scripts.

If we discover this kind of use, we may suspend or terminate your account without notice.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Tell us at security@wordo.farnoosh.io if you suspect your account has been compromised. We will never ask you for your password.

Subscriptions and refunds

Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them. You can cancel from the Settings page; the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you keep access until then.

In the EU/EEA, consumer law gives you a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital-service contract. If you used the paid features during the trial, we may pro-rate the refund. After the 14-day window, refunds are at our discretion.

Intellectual property

  • The Wordo brand, design, code, and puzzle-generation engine belong to us.
  • The puzzles themselves are generated and curated by us. You may solve them and share screenshots of completed puzzles for personal, non-commercial use.
  • You may not reproduce, redistribute, or resell puzzles in bulk.
  • The third-party word lists and dictionaries we use are licensed; their respective licences apply.

Your content

Wordo does not currently host user-generated content beyond display names and avatars. If you upload an avatar, you confirm you have the right to use that image, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it inside Wordo for the purpose of operating the service.

Liability

Wordo is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent allowed by law:

  • we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every attack;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost data, lost time, lost opportunity);
  • our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under the law — for example, liability for gross negligence, intent, or for death and personal injury.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from the Settings page. The deletion process is described in our Privacy Policy: 30-day soft-delete grace period, then permanent hard-delete.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or fail to pay subscription fees. We will email you the reason. You can ask us to reconsider by replying.

We can also discontinue Wordo as a service with reasonable notice — at least 30 days where practical — in which case we will give you a chance to export your data first.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms in a way that affects you, we bump the revision number at the top of this page and email every account holder with a change summary. You can withdraw your consent and close your account before the new version takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands — unless you are a consumer with a stronger right under the law of your country of residence.
